Mascarpone is a cream cheese from Italy which is made from cream. You may have heard of the Italian dessert Tiramisu which is made using a tasty mascarpone cream and ladyfingers.
Before you let loose and start cooking, look carefully at the recipe so you know how many people the measurements are for. If you are cooking for more or less people then you should change the measurements of the ingredients accordingly.
Dry ingredients can be weighed using kitchen scales or measured using a measuring jug; small quantities are often given in tablespoons (tbsp.) or even teaspoons (tsp.). You can also get special measuring spoons. Liquids can be measured using a measuring jug. Make sure that the jug isn't tilted when you are measuring.
