My kitchen ABC
Have you come across any words in my recipes that you don't know? Chefs use special terms for many things. I will explain the most important ones for you here. Then you can learn not only to cook but also the "language of the kitchen"!

"Garnishing" means decorating a dish to make it look pretty. You can find many examples of fun ways to garnish cakes and breads in our recipe section. It is best only to use garnishes that not only look good, but that can be eaten too!
Many of our cakes are covered by a glaze so that they look and taste even better. There are two types of glaze. There is a chocolate glaze which is made from cocoa powder and fat and there are sugar glazes in many different colors which are made using icing sugar and liquid.
Cake pans are generally coated with soft butter before being filled with mixture. This prevents the mixture from sticking to the pan!
